First in what I hope is a long line of blogs

This is my first post on this blog; for all practical purposes my first "true" blog period.

I attended the MACUL Conference the end of last week in Grand Rapids, MI. One of the speakers I listened to was Liz Kolb. She gave a terrific presentation entitled Celphones as Learning Tools. Visit her here: http://www.cellphonesinlearning.com/.

I am a high school teacher and I have not had students in my room the last two days because of ACT/MME testing. Today was my first oppertunity to try out some of the toys Liz talked about. I have set myself up with a gabcast account and a jott account. These two "toys" are amazing.

I teach computers and we have just modified our "Introduction to Computers" course to meet the new Michigan Educational Technology Standards for 9-12. I'll keep all of you posted on how things are going, what I'm covering, what worked and what gets put in the circular file.

I hope to hear from you along the way... lets welcome a warm sping, successful track season, and many birdies.

Welcome to the world of Edublogging! Nice to have you aboard :-)

Thank you for the kind remarks about my MACUL presentation, it is always nice to hear that it was worthwhile to somebody! Keep us posted on the Cell Phone activities.

Being a long distance runner myself, it is to finally see some sunshine around here. Good luck with Track season.
